| Detailed
description of the project |
The
Government of FYROM will organise a population,
households and dwelling census in 2002. It has formally
requested (to the EC and the CoE) an international
observation and monitoring mission in order to confer
sufficient credibility to the census results, especially
for the ethnic minorities who live in the country.
An international observation and monitoring mission
has to be ensured, as requested by th EC and the
Council of Europe.
Field observation will be carried out by about 8
teams of observers (altogether maximum 50 observers). |

ICSTAT ensures all necessary infrastructure and
logistics for a proper conduction of the work by
the High Level Expert Group (HLEG) and the teams
of observers: i.e. providing them with office space,
telephone/fax, linguistic assistance, transportation
facilities
Specific activities for ICSTAT
In this project, ICSTAT is in charge of the following
tasks:
Flights , Per diem payments, Fees payments, Accommodation,
Insurance, Premises in Skopje, Equipment in Skopje,
Transportation,
Translation and interpretation, Training and meetings,
on-site administrative support, running of a local
office during the census operation
ICSTAT prepares monthly reports for the Steering
Committee informing on its activities, the accounting
situation and budget forecast.
