| Detailed
description of the project |
Main
objective of the project are:
- To refine the overall statistical system as
to enable it to meet the needs of the Romanian
economy and EU requirements with accurate, reliable
and timely data in the context of accession negotiation
and furthermore;
- To consolidate the Romanian statistical system
towards reaching full compliance with EU statistical
norms and standards by creating the premises for
an appropriate communication and transparency
leading to strengthen the confidence in Romanian
statistics;
- To create solid structures within the statistical
system that allow an active contribution of the
National Institute of Statistics through approaching
macroeconomic and social analyses and studies
needed in the development process.
Programme activities are organized in four components:
a. Quality Review of Statistics
b. Environment Statistics
c. Government Finance Statistics
d. Strengthening of Economic Study Capacity of
the National Institute of Statistics of Romania
