Detailed description of the project	This project aims to further develop the national statistical system of Albania and to support the conducting of the 2001 Population and Housing Census. Activities of the project mainly relate to technical assistance to INSTAT in re-organising its structure and in conducting the post-enumeration census phases (data entry operations, publication and dissemination of results, analysis of data, including the procurement of goods and services). Main activities: -revision of the management and organisational context and the statistical production at INSTAT -statistical programme has been outlined. -contribution to the checking and publication of preliminary results, the support to data entry and the definition of a post-census cartographic module -training and study visits abroad -short term missions are also planned to define the IT structure and facilities needed according to the definitive statistical programme -publication and dissemination methods. - the cleaning of data, the analysis and publication of results and the post-census cartographic work. -several training and study visits on cartography, informatics, demographic analysis, new dissemination methods, management of small teams.
