Abstract
This publication contains a general view of the legal situation
of international migration statistics in the Mediterranean
countries. It contains a brief overview for each Med country
of interest in migration studies, existing legislation, classification
and definitions, administration bodies dealing with migration,
condition for entry and stay of aliens, prohibited immigrants,
registration of aliens, rules on departure and other particular
features and further research.
These
reports is a product of the MED MIGR project under the MEDSTAT
programme. The objective of the project is to improve the
production and collection of international migration statistics
in the Mediterranean region, as defined by the country coverage
in these reports. |
